Joshua E. Hummer is an associate with Lawson and Silek, P.L.C. His practice focuses on contracts, business law, commercial litigation and estate planning.

     Mr. Hummer received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.S., with honors, from Bob Jones University. During law school, Mr. Hummer was on the managing board of the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology and participated in Moot Court. During law school, he worked for the Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office, where he assisted with and participated (with a third-year practice certificate) in the prosecution of a broad range of criminal cases. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Winchester/Frederick County Bar Association.

    Since joining the firm in 2005, Mr. Hummer has provided business advice and negotiated and drafted loan documents, leases, contracts and other legal documents for local and national businesses. Along with Mr. Lawson, he has successfully represented clients in both the sale and purchase of manufacturing companies transacting business worldwide. Mr. Hummer also frequently appears on behalf of clients in the state and federal courts of Virginia.

    Mr. Hummer also advises clients on estate planning, asset protection and estate administration. Mr. Hummer counsels clients on the use of wills, powers of attorneys, advance medical directives, and trusts.
