John
J. Stephens is an associate with Lawson and Silek,
P.L.C. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, contracts,
wills, and general litigation.
Mr. Stephens received his
J.D. from Catholic University and his B.A., with honors,
from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
As an evening law student, Mr. Stephens was a staff
member and editor of the Journal of Law, Philosophy,
and Culture while working full-time in the defense
industry. Mr. Stephens was also a summer law clerk
for the United States Attorney's Office in Greenbelt,
Maryland. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Stephens
clerked for the Senior Judges of the District of Columbia
Court of Appeals. Mr. Stephens was a United States
Marine officer from 1998 until 2004.
